My name is Alex Vanden Heuvel and I am very excited to be joining Young Scholars Academy. I am originally from New York but grew up in the Cary area. I have been working in the early child education field for over ten years serving children birth through the age of twelve years old. I currently hold a bachelor’s degree from East Carolina University in Family and Community Sciences, with a minor in education. Go Pirates! I also have my early childhood administration credentials from Wake Technical Community College. I believe that the key to success in early childhood education is making sure we are providing a nurturing early childhood environment that actively stimulates developmental growth for each child that walks through our school doors. I have a strong passion for working with families and watching young children flourish. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my friends and two big dogs. I also enjoy staying active. During the summer I enjoy going to the pool. Some of my hobbies include gardening, cooking, and working out.

I look forward to getting to know you and your families!
