At Young Scholars Academy, our teachers encourage all the Pre-K students to develop responsive thinking in all four domains: mathematics, science, literacy, and social-emotional development. Incorporating math and science into everyday learning encourages a child’s active exploration, discovery, and desire for knowledge.

The Connect4Learning®(C4L) curriculum program begins each day with a sequence of math and science topics. Each lesson integrates language, literacy, and social-emotional skills as natural components.

Pre-K Curriculum

Children at this age are eager and ready to learn. We encourage our Pre-K children to think beyond the surface by combining child-centered and teacher-directed learning. Our teacher-student ratio in this program is 10:1, providing an engaging learning environment that allows for student-tailored guidance.

Teaching techniques such as scaffolding are utilized. As the word implies, scaffolding allows a child to build upon their experiences with a teacher’s support being adjusted as their cognitive abilities grow. This technique improves critical thinking skills and enables children to use problem-solving strategies.

Social Learning

It’s not all academics at Young Scholars Academy. Children need to move, explore, and express themselves. Their curiosity and energy levels allow them to learn while playing, as they naturally investigate and engage when they play. Our Pre-K program is designed to instill a love and excitement for learning in multiple ways.

Families are also engaged in a child’s love of learning. Family events take place at the Academy, and this provides an opportunity for children to share what they have learned and experienced. Sharing this knowledge lets caregivers continue the love of learning at home!
